Cybertrust Japan Integrates Quantum-Computing-Hardened Private Keys from Quantinuum into New IoT Authentication Platform

Japan’s first commercial certificate authority incorporating Quantinuum's Quantum Origin solution to strengthen security protections for IoT devices against current and future threats

Cambridge, UK and Broomfield, Colorado, January 31st, 2023 — Quantinuum, the world’s leading integrated quantum computing company, today announced that Cybertrust Japan Co., Ltd., Japan’s leading certificate authority, has integrated its Quantum Origin quantum-computing-hardened private keys into a new certificate issuance and distribution platform for IoT devices to ensure secure communications now and into the future. 

Cybertrust Japan’s new authentication infrastructure for high-speed, high-volume certificate issuance and distribution for large volumes of IoT devices includes the NIST-selected post-quantum cryptography (PQC) algorithms. The certificate authority is further protecting devices from current and advancing threats by incorporating Quantinuum’s Quantum Origin solution, the only cryptographic solution that leverages the power of quantum computers to generate quantum-computing-hardened keys.

IoT devices typically use certificates to authenticate their connection to other devices or networks to prove that they are trusted devices. The challenge when providing and managing certificates across these devices is complex because of the volume of devices trying to connect to networks and the need to provide fast access to data. Security measures need to be robust while also enabling real-time communications.

Cybertrust Japan’s Secure IoT Platform protects end devices through the entire product lifecycle from semiconductor design to the implementation of the devices to the ultimate disposal of the devices. The Secure IoT Platform creates security certificates for the manufacturing process to protect the hardware, to make the manufacturing process traceable and to provide a long-term defect warranty. Honeywell Announces $600 Million Capital Raise For Quantinuum at $10B Pre-Money Equity Valuation to Advance Quantum Computing at Scale

Charlotte, N.C., September 4th, 2025 Honeywell today announced an approximately $600 million equity capital raise for Quantinuum, developer of the world’s highest-performing quantum computer, at a pre-money equity valuation of $10 billion. 

Quanta Computer, NVentures (NVIDIA’s venture capital arm) and QED Investors have joined existing shareholders JPMorganChase, Mitsui, Amgen, Cambridge Quantum Holdings, Serendipity Capital and Honeywell — all of whom have reinvested in this round. The round also includes participation from new investors MESH and Korea Investment Partners.

This capital raise will support Quantinuum’s advancement of quantum computing at scale, which includes continued progress toward the upcoming launch of Helios, the company’s next generation quantum computing system that is expected to launch this year. It will also support Quantinuum’s path to becoming the first to perform universal fault-tolerant computing. 

A full-stack quantum computing provider, Quantinuum is accelerating commercially useful quantum computing with commercially available quantum computers that are the undisputed leaders in performance. Along with some of the most used developer tools and end-applications such as InQuanto, the company’s solutions are driving breakthrough scientific discoveries, economic growth and sustainable development.

QIDO Use Cases and Future Expansion

QIDO is launched together with a high-precision chemical reaction analysis module based on the so-called active space approach. Potential use cases are as follows:

Invest Qatar partners with Quantinuum to accelerate expansion and advance the region’s quantum computing ecosystem

Doha, Qatar, May 20th, 2025 — Invest Qatar, the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar, has inked a strategic agreement with Quantinuum, the world leader in quantum computing and developer of the world’s highest-performing quantum computer. The partnership aims to strengthen Qatar’s quantum computing ecosystem by supporting Quantinuum’s recently announced expansion into the region, which was highlighted last week by the President of the United States during his historic state visit to Qatar.
